Job Scope:

Lile is warehousing multiple SKUs of 12-foot and 16-foot steel rod bundles.
The steel rod bundles weigh between 2,000 to 5,000 pounds.
Lile receives multiple shipments weekly and currently delivers two to four deliveries to the Warn facility a week.
Warn uses roughly 30’x100′ of floor space. This storage space will increase and decrease dynamically based on product shipment being received and delivered every week.

Overview:

Warn Automotive is working with Lile because they secured a contract with one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the United States. To meet the terms of their contract, Warn needed to ramp up the manufacturing of vehicle components, which required them to increase the manufacturing of raw material milling. Warn’s manufacturing plant is not large enough to store the volume needed for the contract. Lile stepped in to provide the services Warn needs for the warehousing and delivery of its raw materials.

Once the rods are received, Lile unloads the product into the warehouse, keeping them dry and out of the elements. The bundles come to our warehouse oiled from the factory and require a very skilled forklift operator to handle them into our warehouse. Lile receives multiple shipments into our warehouse a week. We also provide between two to four deliveries to their facility a week.

Challenges:

Vetting on both sides took place before having mutual acceptance of the contract. The vetting process was necessary to ensure both sides completely understood the project. Both companies wanted to ensure the necessary steps were in place to execute the project. It took over 18 months to develop the business relationship with Warn Automotive.
